The original atrium in the main tract is located in the former women's prison Soeht 7 and convinces with its unique character. The light-flooded location has a fantastic daylight thanks to the lighting strip system. Furthermore, the event location will be given a modern and stylish atmosphere due to a special lighting Technology which can be booked externally. With over 100 m² the atrium can welcome 100 - 200 persons. The shower and WC can be found in the hallway and are free to be used by guests. The atrium enjoys particular popularity among filmmakers. It has already been used as a film scenery for multiple productions with e.g. George Clooney and Til Schweiger, Babylon Berlin. Important, rental fee for an exclusive day as film motive starts at € 3.500,--. The ground floor of the 3-story cell tract also provides the best conditions for readings, exhibitions, dinners as well as seminars and workshops. On the upper floor, you can find perfect areas for artists and exhibitions. Architecture & history The prison was built in 1906 by three German architects. In contrast to the usual construction of prisons at that time, terms such as "humane" and "dignity" were at the forefront in the Soeht7. The large windows, vaulted corridors as well as ornate decorations and ornaments avoid a cramped prison feeling. Since 2010 no one has been imprisoned in the prison after the last inmates have been moved to Zehlendorf. In 2016, the key bund of the monument came into creative hands and has since been built as a place of encounter and creativity. We would like to invite you to see this location live. Embedded in the bourgeois surroundings, the former women's prison is located in a traffic-calmed street. The district of Lichterfelde is a quiet residential district near the Botanical Garden and the Freie Universität Berlin. The Kurfürstendamm, one of the biggest shopping areas in Berlin, is only 7 km away. ATTENTION: Due to conditions concerning building supervision events with children/teenagers are not allowed. The Knast is a unique cultural venue located in Lichterfelde, in the southern part of Berlin. Nestled within a residential neighborhood, the former women’s prison is situated in a tranquil, low-traffic area where parking spaces can be arranged for film crews. Depending on the size of the team, both outdoor spaces and indoor rooms are available for use. The Botanical Garden and Freie Universität Berlin are nearby. The local district court is within walking distance, and Kurfürstendamm is only 7 km away. The venue is well-connected to public transport via several S-Bahn lines and buses. IMPORTANT: Due to building regulations and the overall concept of the venue, the house is adults-only. This policy also applies to productions and events. The owners do not assume any liability.
