Soeht 7 - Dome Hall – Venue description

The light-flooded dome hall is located on the 2nd floor of the former women's prison Soeht 7and impresses with its high ceilings, large windows and its historic atmosphere. Up to 80 people can be hosted there. Small concerts, celebrations and awards, product presentations, workshops, exhibitions, readings and theater performances can benefit from the multi-functional hall with its stage podium and its good room acoustics. Authentically renovated, the 113 m² large auditorium is an exceptional location for a photo shooting, film production or for a private event. Simple chairs are on site, a music system and lighting technology can be booked externally. Architecture & history The prison was built in 1906 by three German architects. Back then this aesthetic architecture in Germany was exceptional and the prison fitted into the bourgeois environment. The vaulted corridors, large windows, and floral and ornate patterns prevented a dark and gloomy prison atmosphere and allowed rather human conditions for the inmates. The last inmates left the women's jail in 2010. Since 2016 there has been a colorful life, characterized by artists, art & culture. The dome hall has been renovated and has a no-photo-policy, therefore the pictures shown are old. Stop by and visit this location to feel the vibe right on site. SOEHT 7 - Former Women's Prison - Local area description The Soeht 7 is located in Soehtstr. 7, a special place in Lichterfelde-West, in the south of Berlin. Embedded in the bourgeois surroundings, the former women's prison is located in a traffic-calmed street. The district of Lichterfelde is a quiet residential district near the Botanical Garden and the Freie Universität Berlin. The Kurfürstendamm, one of the biggest shopping areas in Berlin, is only 7 km away. ATTENTION: Due to conditions concerning building supervision and due to the whole concept, events with children/teenagers are not allowed. We don´t take the risk of ownership.
